    Hi Steve,

When you got perfect meter stay, how come put rubber insulation each hole for bolts?
As stock stay and other holding parts use rubber insulation to prevent from vibration.
Though such parts might be difficult to find at local home-depo.

    Hey Ito,

I actually used the stock mounting points which have the rubber mounts.
I'll post up some pics soon.

    Mirrors

Does anyone know where I can get a set of stock looking mirrors with the left & right threads? I'd prefer to not have to use a thread adaptor.

I thought this would be a simple thing to find but I guess not.

BTW the 80 Eggplant is up & running. I ended up replacing the CDI & voltage regulator from Rex's. I also bought a pre-jetted VM36. So for all you folks that are battling with issues, stay with it.
It took me a year to sort things out but I finally have a bike to ride. Thanks for all the input.

There are original ones around if you look hard enough...also there are some aftermarket replica ones too.

I found that the originals would break with the clip-ons under vibration...they have hollow stems which are welded to the solid threaded fittings and were breaking at that joint.

The replica ones I bought had hollow stems and thread and broke soon after due to the thread being on a tube...so leave them alone.

Personally I now have later 400 mirrors fitted up...a tad longer which helps with clip-ons and they are very solid...might suit your purpose.

    Thanks Stew,

I forgot to mention that I want them in black. This makes my search more challenging.

The control switch is made by Daytona. It would have been nice to know that I needed this to make things work.

I'll be running the wires through the bars to keep things clean.

Does anyone have a suggested supplier for black stainless brake lines?

    Hi Steve,

There are thread adapter which makes aftermarket mirrors thread usable to SR.

When you buy mirrors, you should buy reliable manufacturers products as Stew mentioned.
Bad mirrors could waste your money.

    Hey Ito,

I'll use an adapter if I can't find something I like with the correct thread.
I'm with ya in quality. I hate buying junk.

I've ordered a sprocket & chain set from Mark at Thumperstuff. They should arrive soon.

Isn't the acewell sender unit only a 2 wire?
Daytona gauges typically use a 3 wire type.

Will be interesting to see how it works out?
    Is this gauge working yet?
