Hi gang been a while since I've posted anything really
been a great autumn down here

Rode down to Margs to check out the pro surfing today (my other big passion)

These guys have bigger aggots than me though !
Surfing this reef with hardly any water on it & grinding swell belting it
Good to watch from the corporate box with a beer in the hand though :D

Wow, that is crazy! Around here we don't have an ocean nearby so we just surf the frozen water up in the mountains :)

Nothing like that around here Dave! :D Probably for the best for my longevity :D Going down rapids in small floating objects is probably as close as we get here. :?

I'm in California...the waves are not that big...there is one time a year where we see monster waves where the best surfers in the world come out to ride the waves out at Mavericks.

I reckon the only reason they ride waves that big is so they can build up enough speed to get away from the sharks! Seems like half of WA has been eaten over the past few years! Scary stuff that.

A poor bloke got his leg torn off from the hip over your way just last week ! (just out of Port Lincoln)
I try not to think about it whilst surfing though ;)
I mean you wouldn't do anything if you just thought about the consequences .
These days I tend to surf not much over head high & always bring a mate ;)
As it is never quite as bad if the shark gets your mate ! (its bad but not as bad )
Just like to bring the odds down
Cheers Dave

You don't have to faster than the bear, just faster than the guy behind you

Thank God I live in the UK, any animal here that's physically capable of harming you is so timid they run away and hide from you although the midgies in the north of Scotland can give you a nasty nip. ;)
